Iraq: what's your solution? Tell us what you would doto end the conflict.
Solution is simple, yet very hard for an arrogant manlike Bush: Talk to Iran.
That is what his own Iraqi Study Group told him. Theysaid there is no other way to save US from utterdefeat in Iraq. Only Iran can help save Iraq as wellthe United Stated. But it seems that Bush would ratherdrown his nation than humbly ask for help from formerenemy.
Ayatollahs in Tehran now hold the rope that willeither hang the illegal invaders or save them.
US is still trying to win against Iran. It has been inconflict with Iran ever since it installed Saddam topower in Baghdad in July 1979 straight after AyatollahKhomeini flew in from Paris to remove all US influencefrom Iran.
US needs to admit defeat against the Iranian regime.
Clearly, the Iranian Islamic Revolution is strongernow then it was in 1979. US had tried everything todestroy it. It failed. However, Iran is still willingto forgive the 'Great Satan'.
Now US must make friends with Iran and let the Clericsin Tehran sort out the mess that it has created inIraq. Otherwise, it will be catastrophic for US.Iraqis are not like Iranians. They are not theforgiving type.

I agree with Sami Ramadani when she says that 'forfour years, Britain and the US have aimed to encouragesectarianism'.
Most Iraqis believe that blowing up of the Sammarashrine was an act of US covert operation. They hopedthat sunni and shia militants will be at each others'throats and our casualties will do down. There was aindeed a sectarian war.
However, the destruction of the shrine backfired.Syria and Iran began supplying sophisticated weaponsto the insurgents. Attacks on US forces increased. USdeath soared. More coffins began arriving inWashington. People eventually disgraced Bush at themid-term elections, and Democrates took over Congress. Now Bush is a lame duck President controlled by awoman - Nancy Pelosi.
More US soldiers died in 2006 than in previous years.200 have already died in two month of 2007. Clearly, the US had again miscalculated the Iraqis. Now, evenMehdi army is itching for a third fight with UStroops. They had already beaten the Marines twice in2004.

United States is dead. Iraqis have killed thesuperpower. Sacking of US Defence Secretary DonaldRumsfeld is a confirmation that death. Pro-IsraeliJewish lobbies and their neo-conservatives advisorshave hijacks the American ship and drowned it inwaters of the Tigris. Same lobbies were employedagainst Blair in Britain. Once successfull PrimeMinster is now hiding in humiliation. President Bushhas managed to disgrace his country like no otherPresident had done before him. Iraq invasion willhaunt America for a very long time.
This was an illegal war according to United Nations. It was an immoral war according the Christian Leaders. Therefore, the whole world now knows that Americacommitted an act of evil by bombing the people ofIraq. This led to US defeat at the hands of theIraqis. It was ultimate humiliation for world'ssuperpower.
US had learnt no lessons from previous defeats such asVietnam, Iran, Lebanon, Afghanistan. Iraqis havesuccessfully taught the cowboys a lesson they are notgoing to forget for a hundered years. This is allafter President Bush dared them to 'Bring it on'.
US made some very stupid mistakes. It paid theultimate price for those mistakes.

Talking to Hamas
littleroy's comment 20 Mar 07, 2:23pm

Hamas has been democratically elected by thePalestinian people. US has a problem with Hamas simplybecause Hamas does not bend to Washington. US is notreally interested in elections or the demoracticchoice. It is only intersted in those who will bow toits will. In other words, America still loves slavery. All those who dare to look at US in the eye - Hamas,Iran, Korea, Robert Mugabe, Ahmedinejad, Syria, HugoChavez, Hassan Nasrallah, and many others - these arelabelled as rogue regimes. Now, US says it will dealwith new Palestinian Unity Government but only withthose members who are neither Hamas nor Fatah. Whatkind of pathetic policy is that. Can you imaginetalking with finance minister and giving him aid inmillions of dollars, who will simply hand the money tothe Hamas Prime Minister. Washgington is clutching atstraws. Now wonder Norway and other EU states hasrefused to follow this stupid tactic and opened directrelations with Hamas.
The fact is 200 million Arabs in the middle east seeHamas as legitimate resistence to Israeli occupation. There is nothing US or Israel can do to make themchange their minds. Iran has every right to build nuclear bombs. And ithas every right to use them against any aggressor thatthreathens its Soverignity. Israel is trying todestroy Israel. Why should Iran not try to wipe Israeloff the map? Iranian President Ahmedinejad has alreadystated that American and Israel will soon be history.Clearly he knows they will strike Iran, and obviously,he has something prepared for them. I think Iranalready has produced nukes. And if US launghes war onIran, Iran will test its weapons that Israel so fears.Te blame goes to US for pushing Iran towards makingnuclear bombs. Had cowboys not been acting likeworld's self appointed policemen, Iran would not feltthreatened to take this path. It is fear of the GreatSatan that forced Iranian people to take the nuclearpath. Which country wouldn't? Britain is not threadedand yet it is building weapons more lethal thannuclear Trident.

United States has lost against Iranians and theirproxies every time it has fought them. US support forShah of Iran brought about the end of US presence inIran in 1979 Islamic Revolution when AyatollahKhomieni disgraced Washington by taken US diplomats ashostages. Then in 1983 US tried again to take onIranian proxy Hezbollah. What was the result? US wasdefeated by Iranian backed Hezbollah who finished USmilitary presence in that country. US installed SaddamHussain immediately after the Islamic Revolution inIran. Result? US is being disgraced in Iraq and is nowbegginf Khomieni's successor Khamenei to come to aidof US forces in Baghdad. The whole world would understandthat Iran now has the right to produced atomic bombsafter it was attacked by US. Washington always seemsto mess things up in whatever it does. Taking on Iranwill be America's worst mistake. President Ahmedinejadhas predicted that it will be the end for US. He alsovowed to end the state of Israel soon. It does not want death ofevery Jew. No. It has no problem with its neighbour'sexistence. Its demands are limited to territorialdisputes, and a few thugs in Israeli jails. Israelmust make peace with Hezbollah right now before it istoo late. Hezbollah will again manage to inflict aheavy defeat on Israel as it did in 2000. Miss Rice has just bent before Ahmedinejad. What will the little man do now. Either US is really worried that Iran is trying to make atomic bombs, or it is pretending to be worried; in which case it is seeking justification for a strike on Iran. US has always said that it is working for regime change in Tehran. If US was truly concerned about Iran's nuclear program than it would three things: Give respect that Iran demands, remove language of threats, and without conditions hold seriuos talks to get Iran to agree and give assurances that it is not making nukes. US would also be willig to provide security guarantee that it would not harm Iranian interests. US cannot have it both ways. Recent building of the giant wall across the entire west bank is the worst decision the Israel made since it invaded Lebanon in early 1980s. I think that it was this wall that led to the victory of the Hamas. Palestinan people suffered greatly after the construction began on the illegal barrier. It created much hardship for the public, who then has no choice but to turn to the militants for help. Hamas was voted into office in a fair election. Western nations won't deal with Hamas. Israel wants to starve Hamas into submission. When has that ever worked? What are they thinking ! Pentagon thought that Iraq, like the 1991 war, was going to be a piece of cake. They made some very stupid mistakes, such as postponing the election when Baghdad fell on 9 April 2003. For three years they have been suffering from that fatal error. Hundreds of marines have been dying every years. And in panic US troops have been behaving like animals. Torturing Iraqi prisoners, and killing civilians in cold blood, as in Haditha incident. President Bush has disgraced the US military and brought shame on American nation. Muslim world will never look at United States the same ever again. Tony Blair has repeatedly said that he has no problem with Islam as a religion; and that it is that evil twisted ideology that extremists use that needs to be confronted. Well, now he has the chance to put that claim into action. He can show the world that he does support a peace and tolerant version of Islam by advocating Turkey's entry into the European union. This will naturally have a positive effect throughout the muslim world. Al Qaeda will be dealt a body blow. They wold see that here is a muslim nation that has an Islamic identity living at peace with Christian Europe. An Islamic State that is accepting and accepted. Blair can make Turkey a model for the rest of the Arab world to follow. PoliticsWorld newsTurkey · European Union · Islam · Religion · Middle East

Israel should face sanctions
littleroy's comment 19 May 06, 11:13pm

Hamas may be a terrorists organisation. But so was Hezbollah. If Israel can do deal with Hezbollah and free its prisoners, then why does it refuse to hold talks with democratically elected Hamas government? Israel thought it can starve Palestinian people into submission. Soon Israel will regret this foolish and inhumane policy. Israelis are sensible people. They need to look for long term solutions and stop this temporary reliance on United States to bail them out at all times. US will sooner or later desert Israel. When that happens, Arabs will not be as forgiving as they could be at this time. Current Israeli tactics are nothing but folly. Even their so-called land grabbing campaigns, and illegal settlements are condemned by international community. Israeli concrete wall which they love to call a "fence" in media reports is in fact a racist apartheid seperation of communities. Israel has been ordered by the International Court to tear it down. But as we know Israel has a habbit of compeltely ignorning such demands. UN resolutions against Israel have been shunned for past 40 years. Its time for Israel to make friends with Arabs and give Palestinians a better future. Either that or boiling point is being reached in occupied West Bank and Gaza.World newsIsrael and the Palestinian territories · Middle East

We have no reason to stay in Basra and ought to pull out
littleroy's comment 19 May 06, 11:29pm

I felt like crying when I saw the faces of the five young army personnel members who were killed last week in Basra. The beautiful Sarah Mulvihill 32 and her handsome four colleagues died needlessly in Iraq. Full of youth and enegry, they sacrificed their lives for nothing. They did not die for Iraqi who cheered their at the news of their death. These fine young army officers were victims of our Prime Miniter's utter folly. He does not stand up to Bush in order to save British lives. If the Spanish Premier and now the Italian PM can tell Bush that Iraq war was a big mistake, why can Blair not make that phone call.
